Firebox Print Studio was established in 2006 by Dian Darmansjah and Belinda Simonsen to provide state of the art printmaking services to artists in Queensland, the rest of Australia and beyond.
Dian Darmansjah
Dian Darmansjah is an experienced printer who has completed post graduate studies at the prestigious Tamarind School of Lithography in New Mexico, USA. Before starting Firebox Print Studio in 2006, Dian spent six years working in the Charles Darwin University's printmaking studio as a lecturer and as the Workshop Manager of Northern Editions. As a collaborative and editioning printer, Dian has worked with artists from art centres all over the Australia, ranging from Balgo and Jirrawun in the west to Jilamara in the North and to Weipa and the Torres Strait in the North East, as well as other national and international artists. Dian also maintains his own art practice utilising his many and varied printmaking skills.
Belinda Simonsen
Since graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) majoring in Printmaking and Photography, Belinda Simonsen has worked in a variety of arts administration roles, from Administrator of the Darwin Visual Arts Association to Assistant Manager of the Maningrida Arts and Culture Gallery in Darwin and Business Development Officer at Djumbunji Press in Cairns. Belinda also works for local government as a cultural development officer.
